Ronaldo Receives Guiness World Record Award For Most International Football Goals

Manchester United new signing, Cristiano Ronaldo has recieved Guiness World Record plaque for most international football goals scored by a player, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The Portuguese superstar scored two late goals on Wednesday as his country defeated Republic of Ireland 2-1 in 2022 World Cup qualifier.

The former Juventus star scored in 89th and added minutes to help his country get the maximum three points.

The two goals ensured that he has got 111 international goals, hence overtook Ali Daei of Iran who held the honour initially with 109 goals.

While Ali Daei scored his sum in 149 caps, Ronaldo however scored his 111 goals after 180 appearances.

The former Real Madrid player and five-time Ballon d’Or winner expressed gratitude to the Guiness World Record for the honour.

“Thank you to the Guiness World Records. Always good to be recognized as a world record breaker,” he said on his official Facebook page

“Let’s keep trying to set the numbers even higher!” He concluded.

Although Ronaldo scored the wining goals, he is however suspended from Portugal’s next match against World Cup host Qatar Saturday.

Ronald who has since returned to Manchester United from Portugal camp is expected to make his second debut for the Red Devils against Newcastle on Saturday next week.
