The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has been called upon to do away with the services of Swedish coach, Thomas Dennerby and replace him with Coach Maureen Mmadu as the chief coach of the Super Falcons.

Aderonke Bello made the call Thursday while delivering a goodwill message during the investiture and induction of Coach Maureen Mmadu into the Nigeria Women Hall of Fame in Abuja.

Ms Bello who was delighted with the induction described the coach as a role model to other past and present Nigeria women players and coaches.

She however appealed to coach Mmadu to see her induction as a step to mentor other girls and ladies who want to make career in football or any other endeavour.

“I have not met you before,” Bello started. “But I am very much impressed about you. You are an ideal woman, a virtuous woman, a role model to many. You have shown uncommon dedication and commitment. You deserve the chief coach of the Super Falcons.

“NFF should sack Thomas Dennerby and make you the chief coach. The foreign coaches we have here have not done enough for our football despite the support from the federation. He took us to World Cup but we could not go anywhere.

“People say he took us to the knockout stage that he has done well. But to me, he has done nothing. A local coach took us to the quarter-final in 1999 and if in this modern day we cannot surpass that, then we are not making progress. Dennerby has not added value to our football, let NFF sack him.

“I want to make a personal appeal to you ma. As I said, I have not met you before but please, this award and induction is a huge challenge for you to do more. For you to mentor Nigerian girl child especially at the grassroots level.

“I remain proud of you and I look forward to seeing you in greater heights. Thank you,” the founder of Fame Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation, said.
