Senegal Wins Historic U-20 AFCON Unbeaten, Without Conceding A Goal

Senegal on Saturday emerged champions of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON U-20 tournament in Egypt, crewtingbhistory along the line.
The Terenga Cubs defeated Gambia 2-0 in the final played at the Cairo International Stadium, Cairo with goals from Souleymane Faye in the 6 minute and 56th strike from Mamadou Camara.
The Senegalese did not only win their ever first U-20 AFCON trophy but they did it in grand style.
They went the tournament unbeaten and did not concede a single goal in six matches. No single team, including the high-scoring Gambians could penetrate the impregnable walls of the team.
No wonder players form the West Africa nation also dominated the individual awards at the tournament. Goalkeeper, Landing Baji, no doubt, won the Best Goalkeeper of competition with six cleans sheets.
Pape Diop won the Top Scorer award with 6 goals while Lamine Camara won the Man of the Competition award.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles won the Fair Play award after they ended the tournament as the 3rd best team winning bronze.
