Sheffield United Relegated From The Premier League
Sheffield United have been relegated from the top-flight after a 1-0 defeat to Wolves rendered them unable to avoid the bottom three.
Willian Jose scored the game’s only goal at Molineux to give Nuno Espirito Santo’s side a 1-0 victory and condemn their opponents to a fate that had seemed inevitable for some time.
With just six games remaining, the Blades suffered their 26th league loss of the season, leaving them 19 points adrift of safety.
Sheffield United stormed into the Premier League last season, having risen from League One to the top flight twice in three years. However, they have struggled mightily this season, going 17 games without a win at the start of the season, earning just two points in the process.
They won their first game of the season on January 12 against Newcastle, and showed signs of revival by winning two of their next four games.
However, they have only won once since then, and manager Chris Wilder left the club last month by mutual consent.
