Sport Minister Inspects Moshood Abiola Stadium Ahead Of Renovation

The minister of youth and sports, Sunday Dare Saturday led a team of the ministry’s officials and the Federal Capital Development Authority, FCDA team on an inspection tour of the Moshod Abiola Stadium ahead of renovation work expected to start soon, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports.

The Moshood Abiola Stadium inspection tour led by Mr Dare alongside Permanent Secretary Mr. Gabriel Aduda as well as partners FCDA who are partners in renovation of the Stadium.

The minister announced over the week that the sports ministry and its FCT counterpart has agreed to partner in giving the stadium which has been in comatose a facelift.

It was a thorough screening and inspection exercise that lasted for three hours between 12noon and 3pm.

The inspection began with visitation to the power house of the stadium, the place where Electricity is generated and distributed, table tennis court, down to Swimming pool to Velodrome, straight to the training pitches to ascertain the thorough work that needed to get started any moment from now.

Consequently, the Honourable minister along with the inspection team proceeded to the  Badminton court, shooting field, Conjuction panel room, Outdoor hall of fame, water fountain, family picnic slop, Designated entrance to the hall of fame strip and 4, 000 space car park. 

While the inspection was ongoing, the Minister ordered that any unwanted occupants at the Moshood Abiola Stadium be evacuated by 15th of July.

The Honourable minister also hinted that the Dangote Group of Company will commence the renovation work at the Moshood Abiola Stadium any moment from now.

The minister during the unveiling of the Stadium’s signage last week Friday said that the renovation work will cost $1.5 million.
