Sports Commissioner Pays Surprise Visit To Plateau State Teqball Association

The Plateau State Teqball Association, Plateq is waxing stronger and setting the pace for other associations in the country on mobilisation and galvanisation of support from the government.

Few days ago, the chairman of the association, Mr Miri Timnan Nyantau made promise to make the Plateau State Teqball the hub of all sports and envy of others in the country and he is living up to his word as sooner or later, the association hosted an August visitor.

The Plateau state Commissioner of Youths and Sports development, Honourable Victor Lapang on Friday paid a surprise unscheduled visit to the Teqball association in the state

The commissioner who was in company of the State Director of sports, Mr Simon D. Moven said the essence of the visit was to appreciate and acknowledge the presence of teqball in the state and the wonderful work the association, which is barely a year in in office is doing

The Honourable Commissioner who added that he was on the unplanned visit to show Plateau State’s support to the PLATEQ, applauded the commitment of the Pioneer Executive Council led by its dynamic leader Miri Timnan Nyantau (MTN); Sammy Adesoji, the Vice Chairman and the Secretary, Stephen M. Paul.

He stressed that the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Simon Lalong is a sports loving Governor and will ensure teqball is fully welcomed and sustained in the State.

Lapang also called on all Plateau Youths to use this huge opportunity to get engaged in the new sports so as to curtailed youth restiveness and engaged themselves in profitable activities.

Receiving the commissioner, the Pioneer Chairman of Teqball in the State, Mr Miri Timnan Nyantau, popularly known as MTN, expressed delight over the unplanned visit and thanked the commissioner profusely for finding time to be with them.

Nyantau, who briefed the Sports Commissioner on the journey so far also used the avenue to intimate him on Teqball prospective activities in the Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.

He further stressed that PLATEQ is doing everything humanly possible to ensure that Teqball is incorporated in Schools and the Seventeen (17) local governments of state and the support of the State government via the Commissioner of Sports will be needed.

He also placed on records the Association’s profound gratitude to the State Government for the support enjoined so far through the Director of Sports

Highlights of the surprised visit was the presentation of the branded Plateau State Teqball T-shirt to the  Commissioner by Miri Timnan Nyantau (M. T. N)
