Sports Minister Begins Campaign To Help Oyo State Fight COVID-19

After the 30 months Nigerian Civil War, then Biafra leader, Odumegwu Ojukwu wrote a book and titled it “Because I am Involved”.
In a move similar to such involement, the Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare, has launched a campaign to help Oyo State fight the dreaded coronavirus also known as COVID-19 in the state.
Mr Dare who hails from Oyo state, has called on all Oyo leaders and patriots to donate medical supplies, food supplies, bottled water and all other supplies that can cushion the effect of COVID-19 on citizens of the State.
The Minister who has himself kicked off Support Oyo Campaign (SOC)with the donation of items, said it has become necessary for all well to do individuals and bodies in the state to work together for the sake of all indigenes of Oyo as a lockdown, though necessary to curb the spread of Coronavirus, might bring hardship to people who get by everyday with daily income.
Mr. Dare added that SOC provides an opportunity to demonstrate love to the less privileged from Oyo state through financial and material support while uniting against a common enemy.

As at the time of this story, Oyo state currently has 9 confirmed cases of COVID-19 including the governor.
