Super Eagles Goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye Stars In Sparta Rotterdam First Match
Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was in superb for in his first match as his club Sparta Rotterdam reserved team played against Jong FC Volendam, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands.
The former Fortuna Düsseldorf goalkeeper was making his first competitive action for the club since joining on a free transfer in July.
Okoye who was selected to be in goal for Sparta Rotterdam as the Reserve Team kicked off their campaign in the Tweede Divisie however failed to keep a clean sheet.
The game ended in a 2 – 2 draw but the 19-year-old was on parade for the entire duration of the match that was played without the fans.
Sparta Rotterdam had Okoye to thank as his superb save late on was enough to prevent the team from losing the match, despite playing most part of the game with ten men.
Okoye will be hoping to be a part of the first team when they start their Eredivisie campaign on Friday.
