Three-time Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON champions Super Eagles of Nigeria will begin their 2021 campaign of the 33rd edition of the biennial tournament slated for Cameroon next year against fierce rivals, Egypt on January 11, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
Nigeria is paired along side Egypt, Sudan and Guinea Bissau in Group D of the draw released by CAF on Tuesday.
Nigeria vs Egypt match will take place at the Garoua Roudme Adjia Stadium, by 6pm
Thereafter, the coach Gernot Rohr-led boys will take on Sudan in their second match on 15 of January at the same stadium and time.
The final Group match will see the 2019 bronze winners retain their Stadium where they will take Guinea Bissau by 9pm
In the first two matches, Super Eagle will play as the home team, meaning they would appear in their traditional home jersey while they will use their away jersey in their final match.
Coach Gernot Rohr, who clocked five years as Super Eagles handler on August 9 has come under severe criticisms for lacking technical-know-how and adding no value to the team since he was engaged in 2016.
Since joining the team, Rohr has played a total of 111 matches, won 45, draw 30 and lost 36 with a win ratio of 40.54%.
The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON will kick-off on January 9th and end on February 6th, 2022 in Cameroon.
