Super Falcons Arrive Abidjan May 7 For WAFU Women’s Tourney
With less than a week to the commencement of the 2nd edition of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Women’s Football Tournament, Zone B slated for Abidjan, Cote d Ivoire, the Super Falcons will depart Nigeria for the competition on Tuesday next week, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands
According to report, the team which started its close camping on Monday in Abuja with 26 home- based players will travel to Abidjan after one week of training.
Falcons Head Coach, Thomas Dennerby will pick 21 players from the 26 currently in camp for the WAFU tournament which will start on May 8.
Meanwhile, all the invited players have reported at the Serob Legacy Hotel, Wuye, Abuja on Sunday, 28th April as two training sessions per day had commenced
Veteran midfielder Osarenoma Igbinovia and forward Chioma Wogu have also been called, as well as former captain Evelyn Nwabuoku.
The WAFU Women’s Cup Tournament will take place in Abidjan from 8 – 18 May 2019, with the Super Falcons slated to play in Group B alongside Burkina Faso, Niger Republic and Mali.
Host nation Cote d’Ivoire will tackle Senegal, Togo and Ghana in Group A.
