Super Falcons To Know 2024 AWCON Qualifying Foes On Thursday

Nine-time Africa champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria will on Thursday July 6th, discover their 2024 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations, AWCON qualifying opponents as CAF conducts draw in Rabat, Morocco
CAF announced Tuesday that the Women’s Champions League and AWCON draws will hold on Wednesday and Thursday respectively this week
The AWCON tournament will be hosted by Morocco who last held the 2022 edition where South Africa emerged champions while Nigeria ended fourth while 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON host, Cote D’Ivoire will stage the Women’s Champions League.
“The journey to next year’s TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2024 and the CAF Women’s Champions League Cote d’Ivoire 2023 Qualifiers will begin in Rabat on Wednesday and Thursday when CAF conducts the draws for the two competitions,” the continent’s football governing body announced.
“The Draw for the CAF Women’s Champions League will be on Wednesday, 05 July 2023 at 18h00 local time
“This will be followed on Thursday by the draw for TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations also 18h00 local time,” CAF said
The previous edition of the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (2022) broke many records both in fan attendance and television audiences.
This once again underscored the growth of Women’s Football in Africa.
The final of the WAFCON was shown in over 85 countries globally – breaking new grounds for the event.
On the other hand, the CAF Women’s Champions League – now on its third edition – will be held in Cote d’Ivoire 2023 though the dates have not been confirmed yet
The CAF Women’s Champions League is the first women’s club continental competition on African soil.
Bayelsa Queens on Nigeria won bronze medal in the 2022 edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.
However, Delta Queens will represent Nigeria in the 2023 edition after the emerged winners of the Nigeria Women Football League, NWFL 2023
