The Sports Writers Association of Nigerian, (SWAN) has extended goodwill message to the Publisher/Managing Editor, Best Choice Sports, Comrade Amaechi Agbo on his recent Court victory against Head of International Competitions in Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ruth David.

An FCT High Court on Tuesday June 25, 2024 quashed Miss Ruth David’s frivolous defamation case against Mr Agbo for lack of merit.

Justice A.O Adeniyi in his ruling noted that Miss David, a Director in the NFF failed to prove her alleged defamation case which she instituted since December 9, 2019

In its communique after her congress on Thursday, SWAN Enugu Chapter congratulated Comrade Agbo on his victory.

“Congress congratulated its member, Comrade Amaechi Agbo for his recent court victory in Abuja,” SWAN said.

Meanwhile, SWAN Enugu State Chapter has charged the Enugu State Government to revive school sports.

The association made the call after its congress on Thursday in Enugu. In a communique issued by the association, it urged the state government to diversify sports

“The Congress called on the Enugu State Ministry of Youth and sports to endeavour to revive school sports which has gone moribund in the state. It’s promotion would go a long way in fishing out hidden talents at the grass roots that will replace aging sports men and women in the state.

“The Enugu State Government should engage in sports diversification, emphasis on other sports outside football will benefit the state a great deal during competitions such as National Sports Festival (NSF)” the association said.
