Team Nasarawa Win More Medals At National Sports Festival
Nasarawa State is showing no sign of slowing down in their medal pursuit as they amassed two more medals on Day Eight at the ongoing National Sports Festival holding in Asaba, the Delta State Capital.
Though this year’s Sports Festival was upgraded to accommodate elite and professional athletes, it has, however, not swayed the performance nor quest of Team Nasarawa to win medals and leave lasting imprints on the sands of Nigerian sports.
Team Nasarawa’s medals on Wednesday were won by two athletes in the same Sport, Wrestling.
Emmanuel Haruna settled for the Bronze Medal in the 63kg Men’s Greco-Roman Wrestling Event through technical knockout against his Delta State counterpart.
Shortly after, Richard Ebidou narrowly missed the opportunity to win Team Nasarawa’s first Gold medal at the Festival after he lost in the final of the 70kg Men’s Freestyle Wrestling Event.
However, Wednesday’s acquisitions bring to fifteen(15) the total number of medals won by Team Nasarawa so far at the biannual multi-sport fiesta, which also include four Silver and eleven Bronze Medals, respectively.
