Team Ron & Sue Emerges Champions Of Maiden Secondary School Cricket Tournament

Team Ron & Sue on Saturday emerged winners of the Secondary School Modified Cricket Championship in Enugu organised by Embodiment of Love Academy.
Embodiment of Love Academy is a value-based education institution set up to provide free value-based education to impoverished children.
Their cricket journey which started in February 2023 culminated in the biggest organized secondary school modified cricket competition in Nigeria in recent times as team Ron & Sue won the coveted trophy.
Delight Onuorah won the Best Bowler, Charles Umeh won the Best Batter, Chijioke Innocent won the Best Fielder and Awodi Richard won the Best Cricketer. Every awardee got a certificate, a cricket shirt, and a handshake from the principal. All participants got a Certificate of Participation.
Grouped into 4 teams namely: Ron & Sue, Ricky Sharma, Charles Ogada, and Anant Rao, the players were set to make history in their first competitive 6 Aside cricket match.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, the coach of the school, Charles Obasi, chronicled how the journey started in February 2023 and how it crescendoed into the tournament which was a way to showcase that there are budding young talents in the game in Enugu state. The principal of the school, Emeka Felix Ugwu thanked the initiator of the event, Charles Obasi, for being consistent in his drive to ensure that cricketers emerge from The Embodiment of Love Academy.
Dignitaries present include the Manager of the School, Mr. Emmanuel Erude, the Principal Mr. Emeka Felix Ugwu, the school sports director, Mr. Malachy Ani, the press among other staff and students of the school.
