Fortuna Dusseldorf II goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, is excited to have gotten his first invitation to the Nigeria national team, Bestchoicesports.com.ng understands.

Okoye will have the chance to make his international debut for Nigeria if he is featured in a friendly against Ukraine.

Super Eagles’ international friendly against Ukraine is scheduled for Dnipro Arena on Tuesday, 10th September.

Coach Gernot Rohr handed Okoye his first call-up and the 19-year-old is happy for the honour.

“I can’t imagine how happy I am. I just hope everything will go well and I will be one of those to arrive early,” he told AOIFootball.com.

Okoye will turn 20 on August 28, 2019.
