By Agency Report
Udinese are leading the race to sign Nigeria forward Simy Nwankwo from Crotone this summer.
Nwankwo is expected to leave Crotone this summer following the club’s relegation to Serie B.
The 29-year-old scored 20 goals in 38 appearances for Crotone last season.
The forward is keen to remain in Italy and has been linked with Fiorentina, Genoa, Fiorentina and Monza.
According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedulla, he is now a primary target for Udinese.
They had originally agreed terms with PSV Eindhoven for Maxi Romero, but abandoned the move after he failed a medical due to recent knee surgery.
Nwankwo linked up with the Pythagoreans from Portuguese club Gil Vicente in 2016 and has scored 64 goals in 152 league appearances.
