Super Eagles and Bayern Leverkusen striker, Victor Boniface have been banned from one domestic match and fined €25, 000 Following his post celebration during the Super Cup match

The German Football Association banned Boniface for one DFB-Pokal match and fined him €25,000 for unsporting conduct after he appeared to show his middle finger towards VfB Stuttgart players while celebrating Bayer Leverkusen’s penalty shootout win in the DFL-Supercup final

The incident in question involved Boniface allegedly making an obscene gesture — raising his middle finger — towards Stuttgart players as he ran past them during post-match celebrations.

Referee Tobias Stieler, who officiated the game, confirmed that he did not witness the gesture, which allowed the DFB’s control committee to pursue further investigation.

The 23-year-old will miss a German Cup match against Carl Zeiss Jena on Saturday but will be available for Bayer Leverkusen opening Bundesliga match of the new season Friday against Borussia Monchengladbach.
