Vincent Enyeama Fails To Secure A Contract At Dijon FC
After being out of competitive football for over two years, 36 year old legendary Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Mazigo Enyeama was hoping to return to active football with French Ligue 1 club Dijon FC.
Unfortunately, his trial at the club has been unsuccessful and coach Stephane Jobard has turned down the chance to hand the former Lille goalkeeper a contract.
Enyeama joint Lille in June 2011 from Hapoel Tel Aviv and was released from his contract with the French club in August 2018 after lastly playing for them in April 2017. He made 164 appearances for Lille in seven years.
He has also won 101 caps for Nigeria leading them to the 2013 AFCON triumph.
The Nigerian goalkeeper has already left Dijon’s training camp at Vittel.
His quest for a new challenge continues while Dijon continue in their search for another goalkeeper.
Dijon plays host to Saint-Etienne on August 10, 2019 in their opening fixture of the new French Ligue 1 season.
