The Katsina State Football Association Chairman Alhaji Aminu Kurfi Balele on Thursday showered the Flying Eagles with monetary gifts as the tram prepares for the 2020 U-20 West Africa Football Union tournament

The astute administrator promised to do more if the team performs well at the tournament which serves as qualifier for the 202I Africa Youth Championship.

Kurfi, who watched the Flying Eagles defeat Nigeria Professional Football Association side Nasarawa United 4-2 in a pulsating game was impressed with their performance which he said he said has shown talents abound in Nigeria.

“I am happy with what I saw in the match which teams me talents abound in Nigeria” Balele revealed.

“People say there are no players in the local scene but this is a good testament that good players exist.

“Do not rest on your oars, keep working hard and make sure you listen to your coaches. You must also be disciplined and obey camp rules.

“If you do that, I am sure you will go out there and do not just Nigeria proud but yourselves and your families,” he added.

The NFF technical committee member rewarded the players with a cash gift of 500,000 naira while also promising to give the team 15,000,000 naira if they qualify for the 2021 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania.

In response, Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso thanked Balele for his kind gesture and promised the team will do their best to qualify for the U20 Cup of Nations.

“The team is taking shape but despite the win, we still have areas we are going to work on,” Bosso stated.

“We are in a race against time because we started late but there is a lot of improvement in the past week we have been training. The team is gradually taking shape and we will keep working hard to present a team that will make Nigeria proud.” he enthused.
