Ahead of the final of the 2022 West Africa Football Union, WAFU U-20 Zone B Championship in Niger Republic between Nigeria and Benin Republic, Flying Eagles Coach, Ladan Bosso have disclosed that qualification for 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations is not enough for his boys, bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
Speaking ahead of the final slated for Friday, May 20th, Coach Bosso who expressed delight with the qualification added, however, that winning the WAFU Zone B tournament would be a moral booster for the team going into the biennial continental showpiece in January next year in Egypt.
“We are happy to have the AFCON ticket under our belts now, but we want more. The Cup is now within reach and we will go all out for it.
“We want to be WAFU B champions. That will give us tremendous boost going into the African championship next year.”
Nigeria have not won the tournament since it was established in 2018, with Senegal wining the inaugural edition and Ghana emerging victors at the last edition in 2020
Nigeria lost the inaugural final to Senegal 2-0.
