Why Leicester City Still Need Iheanacho
Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has said kelechi Iheanacho and other players currently at the English Premier League club are still relevant to the side’s season campaign.
Iheanacho is yet to score a Premier League goal for the Foxes in almost a year, but Rodgers said the 22-year-old is part of his plans this season.
“He’s very much a part of the squad. We have a really tight training group which he is part of.
“During the course of the season, we are going to need all the players. Over the summer we strengthened the squad, so everyone is going to be competing for a place. He trains really hard whether he is in the squad or not.”
Iheanacho has made 51 appearances since joining Leicester City from Manchester City in 2017, scoring four goals.
He was an unused substitute when the Super Eagles played a 2-2 draw with Ukraine in an international friendly on Tuesday.
