Ahead of today’s Matchday 19 encounter against Nasarawa United in Jos, Plateau United captain has told Bestchoicesports.com.ng in an exclusive interview why the team is in the red line of the 2018/19 NPFL relegation zone.

The number 6 defender attributed their precarious situation to the banishment the team suffered in their opening matches stressing that the disjoint the banishment caused the team was yet to cement.

He however said that the team is not under pressure in any form to escape the drop adding that with the team’s winning sequence in the league lately, they will beat the drop

“We did’nt get it right from the begining of the league with a home draw against Ifeanyi Ubah which led the supporters to enrupt the field leading to our barnishment to Ilorin

“You know sometimes football is black or white. Most times we play good football but goals are not forthcoming

“We are back to winning ways and the spirit is high in the camp, by God’s grace we will surely get out of the relegation

“We are all proffessionals in the game. As a leader I try to psyche the players up not to be discouraged by our position

“I can’t say no to that, (on whether the team have a psychological problem) because everybody looks at problem from a different angle. He (the coach) is the head coach of the team and may be he has observed the actual problem of the team

“We are not under pressure. There is no any pressure. When results are not forth coming, authomatically that means things are not getting right as expected. The coaches are doing their best to get things right,” he concluded.

Plateau United currently occupy occupy 9 position in Group B of the league table with 22 points. They will face in-form Nasarawa United in Matchday 19 encounter in Jos today by 4pm.
