FC Liberty International has expressed its determination to make an impressionable impact in the 2019 FCT FA League and aims to end the league among the top four, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report
The club which beams with confidence ahead of their league opener against Rhapsody FC in the league on Wednesday has expressed optimism that they will consolidate on their Super 8 finish last year.
Speaking ahead of their league opener, the General Manager of the club Bob Oluwole said that even though managing a private club is very difficult in Nigeria today due to obvious financial challenges, the club is ready for the challenges ahead and are determined to go above their last season’s record.
“It is not easy to manage a private club in Nigeria. The financial implication is enormous but we will keep pushing because it is a call we have answered. With God all things are working well for us. We have been pushing and developing the boys and giving back to the community as a whole.
“Our target in the state league is to surpass our record last year. In the last season we did well though but in this season, we want to go a step further. One good thing is that after last year’s league, big clubs in the country scouted our players and that is a huge motivation. Some of them moved to the premiership, the NNL and NLO and we are happy for that. So we will keep pushing irrespective of the obstacles on our way particularly financially.
“Some of the new boys we have recruited are doing well and we are working on exposing them again like others. If we surpass the position we had last season, it will be ideal. We are targeting semi-final in the state league this year,” he said.
