English Premier League side, Everton Football Club Friday celebrated Alex Iwobi’s two goals against Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium Benin.

This is how the club reported the match:

Alex Iwobi scored twice – including a 25-yard cracker – as Nigeria maintained their unbeaten start in Africa Cup of Nations Qualifying but let slip a dominant lead in a 4-4 draw with Sierra Leone in Benin City.

The Everton forward opened the scoring with just five minutes on the clock and, after Napoli’s Victor Osimhen doubled the Super Eagles’ advantage, Iwobi made it three just before the half-hour mark with the goal of the game.

Picking up the ball 25 yards from Sierra Leone’s goal, the 24-year-old unleashed a sweet first-time strike that sailed into the top left-hand corner. Nigeria looked to be cruising to victory with a further goal from Villarreal’s Samuel Chukwueze. But Sierra Leone reduced the deficit just before the break and stormed back in the second half to take a share of the spoils with an 86th-minute leveller.
