2021 World Weightlifting Championship: Stella Kingsley Begins Nigeria’s Quest For Medals In 49kg Women

Nigeria will this evening, Wednesday, December 8 begin her quest for medals at the International Weightlifting Federation, IWF World Championship holding in Uzbekistan as young lifter, Stella Kingsley competes in 49kg women category
The 19-year old Akwa Ibom State lifter is scheduled to begin her medal quest on Wednesday by weighing in at 5pm while the competition starts by 7pm
The young lifter who won a record 2 gold and a silver at the Olympic Qualifiers in Nairobi, Kenya early this year, is motivated to do the country proud
Speaking ahead of the competition, Stella who won 3 silver medals at the 2019 African Games in Morocco, said she was ready for the competition.
She promised to do the country proud by doing her best and also picking a ticking for Bermignham 2022 Commonwealth Games
“Well I am ready. I am not anxious. We have trained and prepared very well for the championship.
“Right now I am focused on the game today and hopefully I will do my country proud.
On the Commonwealth Games qualifier, she said “I will make my country and people around me proud”
She called on Nigerians to continue to support the lifters as the competition enters game day 2 today.
