Stella Peter Kingsley was born on 13th November, 2002. She has competed for medals and honours in several competitions and championships.

At local, state, national, continental as well as global levels, she has distinguished herself in her weightlifting career.

She has won national, continental and international medals for state and country Nigeria.

And again, in few hours from now, Stella Peter Kingsley will, by 7pm in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, seek to clinch Nigeria’s first medal in the 2021 International Weightlifting Federation, IWF World Championship.

Stella, champion in many competitions, will be competing in 49kg women category.

Previously, Stella have dominated her category some years ago and she will seek to consolidate on her impressive records later today.

Stella announced her weightlifting prowess far back in 2013 as an 11-year old lifter during the National Youth Games, NYG

She also participated in the last two editions of the National Sports Festival held in Abuja and Edo State in 2019 and 2021 respectively.

In her debut competition while 11 years old, Stella Kingsley won 2 bronze at the National Sports Festival in 2012.

She followed it up with 2 silver and a bronze medals at the National Youth Games.

Growing in prowess and agility, coupled with experiences garnered, Stella blossomed and shun like a star in the 2019 Africa Games held in Rabat, Morocco.

Aged 17 and equiped with experiences, she won 3 silver medals in the Games to help the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, NWF contingent make excellent records

That feat was consolidated in the following year, 2020 during the Olympics Qualifiers in Nairobi, Kenya where she won 2 gold and a silver.

At the local level, she won three gold medals at the Champion of Champions in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, 2020.

Speaking ahead of her outing today, Stella said she was hoping for something very good.

“I am hoping to come out with something very good,” she said.
