It was pump and merriment at the Kuje Area Council on Thursday, January 20, 2022 as the 3rd edition of Hadari Football Competition got underway with the Executive Chairman and sponsor of the tournament, Honourable Abdullahi Suleiman Sabo (best known as Hadari) present

With the timbers and calibres in the council all present, the defending champions of the 2nd edition Vision Star FC emerging victorious against Stallion FC of Pagi 5-0 in the opening match.

Addressing the participating clubs before the kick-off, the Executive Chairman and sponsor, Hon. Abdullahi Sabo reiterated the commitment nod the Local Government in promoting unity and engaging the youths productively.

The chairman reminded the team’s of the Chairman’s Cup which has a winning prize of N300, 000 only. He however added that the 3rdneditionnofbthe Hadari competition is going to have a higher prize of N500, 000 and other prizes from 1st to 4th best teams.

He also advised the two teams that played the opening match teams Vision Star FC of Dafara and Stallion of Pagi to take every bit of the tournament serious.

He noted that exceptional players win the tournament will be selected and taking to Europe to further develop their careers and play professional football.

He also added that the competitions are set always to boost the peace and unity in Kuje Area Council and to eschew social vices among the youth in the Area council.

He enjoined the youths to remain focused and be determined in pursuing their dreams legitimately even as he promised to deliver back to the masses in the Kuje Area council.

The Hadari Football Competition is part of the Kuje Area Council’s grassroots football development in the FCT.

Dignitaries that graced the opening ceremony were Comrade Ezekiel Dalhatu, Commissioner Public Complaints Commission FCT; Personal Assistance to Distinguished Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda representing FCT PDP state chairman; the Speaker, Kuje Area Legislative Council and some Ward Councilors where present.
