The Vandeikya Local Government Football Council (VLGFC) ably led by Mr. Robert Terlumun Akpenpuun wish to inform that all her football activities/ programs have now resumed after the abrupt lockdown due to the Covid – 19 pandemic.
Recall, the Kunav Football League (KFK), one of the competitions organised by the Council had gotten underway in March with few matches already played before the dreaded pandemic put paid to the league until now.
“After the uncertainties and unpredictability of resumption that characterised sudden break period, we are glad to announce that the Kunav Football League (KFL) will now recommence on Saturday, 14 November, 2020 with the opening match between Vantown Football Club, representing Township Ward, and Ningev Ward FC @ the Vandeikya Township Stadium by 3:30pm. The Council decided to start the league afresh,” a release Wednesday read
“This resumption is based on the directive by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) that all leagues and football programs resume, albeit with a caveat: all Covid – 19 safety protocols must be strictly observed at all playing venues, that means matches may be played without fans and the few that must watch will do so in strict adherence to the safety procedures as spelt out by the NFF.
“The Council wish to use this opportunity to appreciate you for all the support you gave before the compulsory break, and hopes that you will continue to be a part of our avowed desire to develop grassroots football in Kunavland in such a way that, sooner, rather than later, we’ll begin to have our talented youngsters in the national teams, and in good local and foreign clubs.
“And we all know the multiplier effect this development will bring to bear on their families, Kunavland and the society.”
The Council, since inauguration has not, and will not leave any stone unturned in her quest to rid Kunavland of crime and criminality through sports, even as your collaborations support, partnership and synergy remains highly coveted.
“We will release the new fixtures for the KFL soon, so you can identify with your Ward teams in anyway you can to ensure they succeed in the league.”
