According, the legendary Cameroonian striker is on the track radar of Murcia club president Morris Pagniello, who is looking to add the 39-year-old to his squad.
Murcia are currently campaigning in the third tier of Spanish football, Segunda Division B – Group 4.

Eto’o, who is regarded as one of the greatest African players of all-time, retired from professional football in 2019 following a spell with Qatari club Qatar FC.
“At this time of the morning I would say that the signing of Samuel Eto’o by our team is at 50-50,” Pagniello told Marca.
“Next week we will know if we can sign Eto’o. If not, we have a Plan B prepared. We have several investors in Mexico and the Emirates who can financially compensate the operation.
“If we sign him, it is the manager’s job to align him. But we are clear that the game against Levante is very important and that it is time for there to be exceptions.”
Eto’o is familiar with Spain having turned out for Real Madrid, Real Mallorca, Leganes, Espanyol and FC Barcelona during his playing days.
The Douala-based legend played his best football at Barcelona where he scored 130 goals in five seasons and also became the record holder for the most number of appearances by an African player in La Liga.
He is also the all-time leading scorer in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations, with 18 goals and he is also Cameroon’s all-time leading scorer and third most capped player, with 56 goals in 118 caps.
