By Amaechi Agbo
Plateau United coach, Abdul Maikaba has disclosed that Simba FC of Tanzania are not invincible as the two teams are set to clash in the return leg of the preliminary round of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League this weekend.
Coach Maikaba was on the dugout Sunday as his lads wasted plethora of chance as they succumbed to a 0-1 loss to the visitors in a match played in Jos, the state’s capital.
Clatous Chama scored for Simba FC in the second half of the encounter to pile pressure on the 2019/2020 NPFL champions.
But the coach who is optimistic that the Plateau side would turn around the result in Tanzania having overcome similar situation in the past, appealed for support to enable the team conquer.
“Good game against Simba SC Tanzania they play good football, but they are not invincible,” he said after the match.
“They are just few inches ahead of us because they’ve played 11 league games before now
“We have done it before. I believe we can do it again winning away from home. We only need your support
“We only need your support and trust. We still have another 90 minutes to decide who move to the next round,” he said on his Twitter handle
The return legs for Plateau United is scheduled for between the 4th and 6th of December at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
