CAF Confederation Cup: We Are On A Mission In South Africa – Rivers United

Nigeria’s 2020/2021 CAF Confederation Cup campaigners, Rivers United has declared that they have a mission to actualise in South Africa ahead of their first leg, first round clash against South Africa Premier League side, Bloemfontein Celtic
The team which arrived the Orange Nation on Sunday with 38 delegates added that do not want to let the people of the state including the governor, Commissioner for sports, permanent secretary as well as the supporters and the entire Nigerians down
“We are on a mission in South Africa,” the team declared.
“We DON’T want to let Rivers State, Our Governor Barr Nyesom Wike, Our Sports Commissioner Hon Boma Iyaye, our Perm Sec Sir Honour Sirawoo, our supporters, the good people of Rivers State and the entire Nigeria down.”
Travelling via Air Peace, a 38-man contingent of Rivers United have touched down in Johannesburg South Africa ahead of CAF Confederation Cup first round tie on Wednesday against Bloemfontein Celtic.
The Air Peace fight touched down at the Johannesburg airport at 10:24am
The 38-man delegation led by Commissioner for youth and sports, Boma Iyaye, departed the shore of the country in the early hours of Sunday via Air Peace airline and touch down around 10:24am.
Bloemfontein Celtics were drawn bye in the preliminary round of the competition while Rivers United relied on penalty shoot out to overcome hard fighting Futuro Kings of Equatorial Guinea.
The South Africans are in high spirit after playing a 1-1 draw against Kaizers Chief in the South Africa Premier League.
The match is slated for Molemela stadium on Wednesday 6pm Nigeria time.
