Enugu SWAN Battles Nigeria Police POCACOV In Epoc Novelty Match

The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Enugu State chapter will this afternoon battle Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices, POCACOV in an epoc novelty match to mark the end of the year 2022.
The match which is aimed at creating awareness on the dangers of social vices in the country will also be used to raise campaign on responsible and responsive parenting for children to thrive bearing in mind the Olympic values of sports
Speaking ahead of the match which will kick-off by 4pm today at the Rangers International FC training Centre in Enugu, the National Coordinator POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu said the media and sports are part of the key channels POCACOV is using to take home their message to every family in the country.
“The novelty football game is to enhance stakeholders and multi-agencies partnership and participation for a functional community. It is an anti-vice match to inspire young minds/youths .
“The match will also be used to raise awareness on responsible and responsive parenting for Our children to thrive bearing in mind the Olympic values of sports,
“The media and sports form the focal channels through which our messages can reach the families, schools, churches and more” he said.
On his part, Chairman, SWAN Enugu State, Comrade Gideon Iwueke said the association will continue to partner with relevant agencies, bodies and governments in making communities in ensuring proper upbringing children and youths in the society.
He described the novelty football game as well as partnership with POCACOV as a unique bonding and promised that the media would be there to offer its support to the POCAVOV at all times.
Meanwhile, the Technical Adviser, SWAN Enugu football team, Coach Okey Nnamani has promised that the his boys are ready to prove to the masses that they don’t just talk and report sports but actively engage in it.
He revealed some of the star players to watch out for to include Obisike Nicholas, Gideon Iwueke, Amaechi Agbo, Ogbodo Ifeanyi, Emma Nwere and others.
