A product of GBS of Jos, Plateau State, Abdallah Mohammed joined Nasarawa United Football Club, a Lafia-based team that plays in the Nigerian Professional Football League, NPFL, during the 2019/2020 Preseason.

With his first stint in the elite football league in Nigeria, the prodigy has established himself in the league and has won the hearts of both fans and critical stakeholders alike with his excellent football control, passes, confidence, precision, accuracy, runs, and execution.

The teenager started finding his rhythm in the NPFL when he established his presence in the NPFL week five game between Nasarawa United and Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, where he marshalled the midfield like a super pro, helping Nasarawa United to their first away point in the 2019/2020 League Season. He narrowly missed the man-of-the-match award to fellow team-mate, Moses Tsehuan who showed superb performance in the heart of the defence.

In the matchday seven encounter against Sunshine Stars FC, in Akure, not only did Abdallah shine like a million stars, he scored one of the most beautiful goals the world has ever seen in football; a 25-metre sliding goal through the roof of the post that left both defenders and goalkeeper of Sunshine Stars completely shellshocked, and asking one another how he managed to score from such impossible angle despite the wall of gibraltar created.

Again, he narrowly missed the man-of-the-match agong by one margin vote to Abia Angel who scored four in the 2-4 loss to Sunshine Stars.

Abdallah also shone spectacularly after helping his team to a 1-0 victory over Heartland in the NPFL week ten tie in Lafia, their first victory in the NPFL this season. He was on rampage in that game with an eighty per cent pass accuracy, dribbles, and interceptions.

But the NPFL week eleven away game against MFM of Lagos is still the talking point in the lips of those who came to watch the game at the refurbished Soccer Temple, Agege, Lagos State, especially sports journalists from renowned media outfits.

Every touch on the ball by Abdallah was one christened with beauty and rousing applause by fans at the stadium. He was everywhere supplying the killer passes, selfishly protecting his ball off attacking opponents, irrespective of their body sizes, and twisting and turning like a robot each time he was on the ball.

The press at the stadium were asking, critical stakeholders were asking and the fans were equally asking who the lad, Abdallah, is and from where! Without any contemplation, he was onerously voted man-of-the-match in that goalless draw on a difficult terrain like Lagos.

In other matches between Nasarawa United versus other teams like FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Rivers United, Dakkada and Warri Wolves, the rising sensation displayed stellar performances that are still wagging tongues and awe-driving those who watched him in those games.

There is no second thought about Abdallah’s nomination for the teams of the months of December, 2019, having made the list for the team of the week eleven, even as we await the final list to be out before the end of this January.

The league is barely 16 weeks old, with Nasarawa United having played only fifteen, with a game in hand against Enugu Rangers, the world is yet to see the best of this ever-growing star player, who said his role model is ‘Pirlo’ of Italy, as he improves on each game he features.

For now, he is the most admired player of Nasarawa United, and there are insinuations that his kind of football may not keep him longer on the Nigerian shores, with interests already flying in from around the world for his services.
