Baciro Cande, Guinea-Bissau coach at the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations AFCON in Cameroon has stated that his wards are well prepared to defeat Super Eagles of Nigeria in the last Group D match in Garoua, www.bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
The two West Africa countries go into the last preliminary matches with contrasting fortunes.
While Nigeria have qualified for the last 16 as leader of the group, the Wild Dogs need an outright win to retain hope of their progression into the next stage
Speaking during a pre-match media conference on Tuesday, coach Baciro Cande who conceded that the match would by no means be an easy one, expressed optimism that his boy will deliver against the three-time champions.
“The match will be difficult, but it is important to get three points if we are to continue competing.
“We know Nigeria are a strong team, but we are well prepared, and we will play to win.
“We have to believe in our ability and fight for what we believe in because this is football,” he said.
Guinea-Bissau’s Jonas Mendes is not unaware of the huge task before them.
“We know that the opponent is strong, but we trust in ourselves and nothing is easy. But we will make every effort and it is important to get the first victory and we hope to achieve it in tomorrow’s match.
“The last match was difficult for us, but we are professional players who know how to overcome difficult moments and prepare for what is to come, especially as we strive to make our country and our fans happy,”
The Guinea Bissau and Nigeria match will kick-off by 8pm tonight.
