Ahmad Congratulates New CAF President As Motsepe Holds First Meeting

Former President of the Confederation of Africa Football CAF, Mr Ahmad Ahmad has congratulated his successor, Patrice Motsepe, Bestchoiceaports.com.ng can report
Mr Motsepe was Friday elected unopposed as CAF President during the 43rd General Assembly held at Rabat Morocco.
In his congratutory message, Mr Ahmad reckoned that the task of leading Africa football is huge.
He wished him all the best as he pilots the affairs of the continent’s football for the next four years
“Congratulations to Patrice #Motsepe on his election as head of the @CAF_Online.
“Leading African #football is a huge task, and I wish him every success for the good of #Africa.
“Good luck to him,” he said on Twitter
Mr Ahmad Ahmad enjoined a turbulent period as CAF President including suspension and five years ban from FIFA.
Although the Court of Arbitration for Sports, CAS later reduced the sentence, the Mardagascan was not eligible to stand for re-election.
Motsepe Holds First Meeting
Meanwhile newly elected CAF President, Patrice Motsepe told resumed work in his office and held first executive meeting with his new cabinet in Rabat
The meeting which was chaired by the CAF President, Patrice Motsepe made the following decisions
Mr Ahmed Yahya was coopted in the Executive Committee.
First Vice-President: Augustin Senghor
Second Vice President: Ahmed Yahya
Third Vice President: Suleiman Waberi
Fifth Vice President: Kanizat !brahim
General Secretary of CAF: Mr Veron Mosengo-Omba
The President thanked Mr Abdelmounaim Bah, who had occupied the role on an acting capacity.
The Executive Committee also appointed Mr. Seidou Mbombo Njoya as Fourth Vice President.
