He came in in the second half but his display was a cynosure of all eyes as mesmerized the Algerians on Friday. Alex Iwobi continued his superb run of form by scoring in Nigeria’s 2-2 friendly draw against Algeria in Constantine on Friday.

The Everton midfielder – who has been nominated for the EA Premier League Player of the Month for September – levelled for the Super Eagles in the second half when the ball fell to him 25 yards out and he side-footed a fine finish into the right-hand corner.

It follows Iwobi’s player-of-the-match display for the Blues on Sunday, when he provided the assist for Neal Maupay’s second-half winner in the 1-0 victory over West Ham United at Goodison Park.

Iwobi is set to return to international action on Tuesday night with another friendly against Algeria.
