Every country at each passing generation has football stars raised to project the country’s image and profile her football to the global community.

In Nigeria, like a star shining in the cloud, Awwal Abubakar have risen to light up Nigeria’s football spectrum

Abubakar, calm and focused, have grown to be one of electrifying football strikers, a refined finisher with instinctive ball knowledge.

Born in Niger State, North-Central region of the country, Abubakar had his early education at the All Amin International School before he moved to England.

Awwal combines speed and agility to torment defenders

Discovered early with his God-given talent, football, Abubakar on arrival to England four years ago, understanding the importance of combining education and football, gained admission into the Liverpool University where he combined both evenly.

It was no wonder then that while in school, Awwal Abubakar refused to be held down with academic curriculum. He pursued his football career along with his education.

He started from Liverpool International College for his one-year foundation course and later moved to Bournemouth and finished his 3-year course at Bournemouth university.

The 21-year old graduated in 2021 from the Bournemouth University with distinction in Business Management. And it also became a year of double blessings as he was signed by Bournemouth Sports FC.

Awwal scored 15 goals, assisted another 15 for BSFC in the just concluded season.

Awwal first moved to England in the summer of 2018 settling in Liverpool for a year before moving to Bournemouth in 2019. His local playing career saw him sign for Bournemouth Electric, St Francis and DPL friends Corfe
Castle FC.

First team Assistant Manager Stu Ross and GK Coach Pawel Kowalski first spotted Awwal last season when he was at Bournemouth Electric playing in a local derby against Bournemouth Manor.

He was a stand out player amongst the rest and in October 2021 he was signed for BSFC
(Bournemouth Sports Football Club) and made his debut a week later against his old side Corfe Castle scoring a hat-trick as
Sports ran out 9:1 winners.

Awwal has amazing talent with his biggest strength being his speed. Not only has he got speed intinction and precision in scoring goal is outstanding as scored 15 goals and 15 assist in the just concluded Jewson Dorset Premier Football League with BSF placed 4th on the final log.

Two-time FIFA World Footballer of the Year and Brazilian legend Ronaldinho Gaúcho, summed up his God’s given talent in football this way: “God gives gifts to everyone, some can write, some can dance. He gave me the skill to play football and I am making the most of it.”

Awwal Abubakar is primed to make the best use of his football talent and goal scoring prowess for his country and club.
