Cameroon Victory: Super Eagles Can Win AFCON Trophy – Dalung

The immediate past minister of Youth and Sports Development, Barrister Solomon Dalung has expressed believe that the Super Eagles of Nigeria can go all the way and win the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, holding in Egypt, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.
Dalung, a member of the Federal Government delegation to the Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON in Egypt, applauded the Super Eagles’ improvement from their group stage performance.
Super Eagles of Nigeria Saturday defeated defending champions and arch-rivals, Cameroon 3-2 to progress into the last eight of the biennial continental fiesta.
In a released signed by his SA on Media, Nneka Anibeze, Barrister Dalung expressed delight in the team’s performance following Nigeria’s victory over rivals, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Saturday at Alexandria in the Round of 16 of the tournament.
Nigeria came from behind to equalise and win the highly contested knockout game.
Dalung who is among the Federal Government’s 11-man delegation set up by President Mohammadu Buhari to cheer the team up in Egypt and provide other necessary support to the team, expressed optimism that the Super Eagles will go beyond the quarter finals.
“I congratulate the Super Eagles for their victory over Cameroon. Their performance today (Saturday) shows that the team will go far in the Africa Cup of Nations and possibly win the trophy which is the prayer of all Nigerians.”
“Barrister Dalung praised the players for their hard work, determination and resilience in the knockout match against Cameroon.
“He thanked them for making Nigerians proud especially their number one fan, President Muhammadu Buhari.
“The President and father of the nation President Muhammadu Buhari has made available to you all that you need to be successful at this tournament. Nigerians are also praying and rooting for your success.
“We are happy for making us proud today and we wish you success in your next game,” Dalung stated.
