The Court of Arbitration in Sports (CAS) will on March 20 deliver a ruling on the bitter feud between Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca and Tunisia’s Esperance over the 2019 CAF Champions League, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

The Moroccan club sued the Tunisians and CAF at the highest arbitration level after they claimed that the referee of their Champions League final match was unbiased and had made incorrect decisions. They eventually walked out of the tie in the 58th minute effectively handing the Tunisians the trophy.

They first went took their case to CAF where it was dismissed before heading to Zurich-based court seeking justice over that ill-fated final. They have filed new evidence and documents and CAS will deliberate over them before making the final and last decision next month.

It is interesting as to which decision Wydad will be expecting as Esperance has participated in the Club World Cup as African champions. This season’s Champions League is already at the quarterfinal stage with Zamalek setting a date with the Tunisians while Wydad will face another Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel.
