Beyond the competitive atmosphere, it was a moment to relax and enjoy unique ambience sportstainment produced at the just concluded 6th Taekwondo invitational Tournament staged by Chika Chukwumerije Sports Foundation (CCSF).

The sports event comprising Taekwondo, Table Tennis, Video Games, Bouncing Castle which metamorphosed to Dance galore on Saturday August 12, 2023 held inside Package B of the prestigious Moshood Abiola National stadium Abuja.

The weekend package full of fun and excitement kicked off with keep fit exercise amidst early morning downpour, before other sporting fiesta followed.

Later on, a known and celebrated dance group in the nation’s capital triggered their usual “Dance Up” performance, a show that grilled the attention of both guests, athletes, parents and spectators who thronged the venue in large numbers.

Led by Gymnastics guru and tactician, Coach Tony Asuquo, the dance group performed in different colours, themes themed shades to the admiration of many with oozed thick but joyful applause.

Introducing his skillful team one after the other, Asuquo later told the gathering that candour the event gushed out was a bit of things to expect in subsequent editions.

Already, bigger sporting event, laced with variety of entertaining vibes is slated for December 2023.

“I tell you, we have what it takes to give everyone a feeling and experience that will stick a while. We don’t just dance, we communicate and take all the stress and worries off you, because life shouldn’t be about hustle and bustle. 

“You don’t need to just think of going to cinema, or visiting anywhere else. Here we give all in one package,” he said.

He then commended the high level organisation of the events.

“I duff my cap for the first ever Taekwondo Olympian in Nigeria, Engr. Chika Chukwumerije. He is always coming out with something special always. He has been the big masquerade in Nigeria’s sporting space and he has now produced another level with a mix of sports and entertainment options,” he said.

On his part, Engr. Chika, founder and Chief Executive Officer CCSF said, “What you go and pay so much to get in form of entertainment, we have decided to give you even more free of charge. While you enjoy the vibes, you also have things like barbecue and other edibles to relax with.”

Some of the people who shared their experiences including Mr. Patrick Idoko and Mrs. Ronke Ajibola said there were excited that they now have an answer to the kind of atmosphere they have been yearning for.

Commercial vendors who locked around with several goods and services said the events afforded them opportunity to engage in brisk sales which turned hugely profitable afterall.

One of them, Ms. Winifred Orji, a chef and food dealer said, “I’m very happy that I didn’t miss the opportunity to put smiles on the faces of people and in turn make good returns.”
