The Delta State Football Association, DFA, has reaffirmed Mr. Stanley Orukpe as its substantive secretary, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report.

The reaffirmation was part of resolutions reached at the end the FA’s congress held Thursday.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the congress, among other things, warned that anybody who parades himself as secretary of the association will have the law to contend with.

“The DFA uses this medium to inform the general public that the Association scribe is Mr. Stanley Orukpe. Any person parading himself as secretary or acting secretary of the DFA not known to the Board will have the law to contend with,” the statement read.

It could be recalled that the DFA had in February this year approved the appointment of a new Secretary,

In the Congress, the DFA stated that, the association relieved the former Secretary, Mr. Azuka Ogosi, of his duties due to conflict of interest in performance of his FA duties and as a Delta State Sports Commission Staff.

In his place, the Congress approved the appointment of Mr Stanley Orukpe as Interim Secretary of the association with immediate effect.

Other resolutions reached at Thursday’s congress include conveying a Stakeholders meeting to chart a part towards a sustainable grassroots football development in Delta State; DFA is open to grassroots football sponsorship but will allow those who are willing to abide by Association football guidelines.

The DFA also congratulated the NFF and the Super Eagles in their qualification into the semi-final stage of AFCON in Egypt and prayed for the team to lift the cup to the glory of God and fatherland.

The Delta Football Association Felicitated with their indefatigable and sports loving governor His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa on his 60th birthday celebrations and wish him many more years of fruitfulness and a successful 2nd term in office.
