As the Nigeria’s national U-17 male team, Golden Eaglets continues to intensify training ahead of the 2021 U-17 Africa Youth Championship, AYC qualifiers in Abuja, Ebuka Ibekwe is one player the coach Fatai Amoo-led teenagers cannot overlook in his team selection.

Dubbed “Aguero” after Argentine and Manchester City’s star, Kun Aguero because of his playing style which is unarguably fitted with the great striker’s style, the young teenage boy will be a great asset to the team as they prepare for their West Africa Football Union, WAFU qualifying tournament.

As the preparation for the WAFU U-17 qualification tournament scheduled to take place from December 5-20, 2020 next month, the Golden Eaglets stands a better chance in attacking front of the team with the prolific striker incorporated into the final squad.

Ebuka has shone like a rising star in recent matches and training with his academy, FC Ngadiuba Soccer Academy, Abia State, Nigeria, the young lad was the cynosure of all eyes when he mesmerised both players and officials at the 2020 Stella Rick Super Six U-19 Tournament at Nanka, Anambra state.

Chukwuebuka, called “Ebuka” for short, who was just 14 years and playing in a tournament meant for 19-year-old, rose from among giants and took home the Most Valuable Player, MVP award of the competition.  

His football prowess wowed both the organisers and fans alike who eulogised his talent and pronounced him “a future star.”

Although the outbreak of the dreaded COVID-19 which drastically affected humanity and all it stood for, Ebuka braved the odds and continued his projection towards becoming one of the greatest footballers in Nigeria football history.

His inclusion into the final squad for the AYC qualifying series commencing from next week will give the Eaglets added edge against their opponents, Ghana and Ivory Coast in the Group B pairing.
