Below is the story that accompanied the video:

It is always delightful to honour and represent once country, especially Nigeria in any sporting activity. But it is sad to know that most athletes who represents the country if not appreciated, are forgotten without any benefit.

Forty seven (47) years after representing Nigeria at the Common wealth Games in Australia in 1974 as a boxer, Mr Stephen Ogbo has been neglected to face his fears without a single attention from the body that should have taken care of him.

Hails from Nkanu East local government area of Enugu state, Mr Stephen who is currently blind said after involving him as a coach back in Ondo state for nine months before replacing him with what they call their own coach who returned from oversees, the government has not sort to know what his live has turn into or (not to talk of) mention of rewarding him for his efforts.

The veteran boxer who’s also a national gold medalist in 1975, is calling on the Government to help provide him with a white cane for easy movement as he has been deserted by even his own wife, leaving him with no form of care.

He also revelead that in his community he’s been ostracized therefore, calling on the relevant authorities to come to his aid.

For Mr Stephen who is over 70 years and has arguably added to Nigeria’s glory in Boxing, life is sheltered with nothing.
