The dream of every aspiring football player is not only to join a good football club or academy but to also grow in the game and become a better and greater professional in the future.

However, for Salisu Mai Shadda from Kano State, the motive is totally a different proposition. This is because, the 20-year-old is not only a good footballer but he also allegedly engage in act of “thiefry” including allegedly stealing 14 android phones, football boots, a laptop, some amount of money and a camera from there different clubs in Abuja and Nasarawa State. From Jos in Plateau State to Abuja, the Federal Capital and Keffi in Nasarawa State, Salisu Shadda is suspected to have made away with items not belonging to him.

Shadda’s alleged act of stealing came to the fore on Thursday, August 10, 2023 when he reportedly stole a Canon 60D Camera, Note 12 phone, Smart6 phone and an HP laptop from his current club, Phoenix Football Academy in Abuja

Lamenting over the theft on Thursday, the owner of Phoenix FA, Udechi Emmanuel lamaneted that Salisu Mai Shadda robbed the academy just after six days he joined them. He noted that being a good footballer, the academy was working out a transfer deal with a Division Two side in Egypt.for him.

“It was on Thursday. The players were in the field training. Salisu Shadda then took permission to go into the camp and that was the last time we saw him.

“When we retired to the camp from the exercise, we discovered that our belongings including phones, a Canon camera and a laptop were all missing.

“He stole Canon 60D camera, Note12 phone, Smart6 phone and Hp laptop from our camp. This player just joined us six days ago.

“I have a plan for his transfer to Egyptian Division Two side but now, look at what he has done,” he said.

Mr Emmanuel noted that Phoenix Football Academy is not the only club he had stolen from adding that the academy would involve the police to track him.

“Salisu Mai Shadda is a very good defensive midfielder. Unfortunately, we are not the only club he has robbed. He has also stolen phones from Galadima FC as well as another club in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

“We will involve the police to track him. Such an individual should not be allowed freedom to continue to steal people’s belongings,” he concluded.

Salisu Mai Shadda Also Stole Phones, Boots, money From Galadima FC and Rondo FC

Phoenix Football Academy is not the only football team that Salisu Shadda has allegedly robbed. Galadima FC in Abuja as well as Rondo FC in Keffi (now disbanded) have all been victims at one point or the other.

The interesting fact about how Shadda goes about his “business’ is that he doesn’t last for even a week in all the clubs he has stolen from.

At Galadima FC, our investigation shows that the footballer came for screening with the club. After he featured for the team in a match but did not measure up to their standard to be picked, he left the team at the field of play and went straight to the camp where he allegedly picked five phones as well as ₦50, 000.

We gathered that efforts by the club to track him and get him arrested ported abortive as he left Abuja and went to Jos in Plateau State.

Rondo FC of Keffi, Nasarawa State also was a victim. According our investigation, Salisu Shadda joined the club from Galadima FC. While the team was playing a match, he excused himself from the team, went into the camp and carted away seven android phones, football boots and undisclosed amount of money.

It was further gathered that Shadda started his nefarious activities in Jos, Plateau State where he played for GBS FC.

Efforts to speak to Salisu on his phone number 09137753772 was unsuccessful as the mobile number was switched off when our correspondent tried to contact him. SMS sent to the same number was not responded to at the time of this report.

Sources who spoke to our correspondent lamented that the player is notorious for his evil actions and called on other clubs to be wary of him.
