The Federal Capita Territory Football Association, FCT FA Chairman, Mohammed Adam Mouktar has reemphasised his commitment to maintaining and building infrastructures in the federal capital in order to encourage grassroots football development in the area, Bestchoicesports.com.ng can report

Alhaji Mouktar who stated this on Saturday when in visited the Area 3 Play Ground to watch on of the matches in the ongoing 2019 FCT FA Football League season said that with the constitution of 14 different committees for the FA, stakeholders and indeed residents of the FCT will in no distant time witness great improvement not just in the league and other competitions the board would organise but in infrastructure maintenance

ALhaji Moukar who was in June this year elected the new chairman of the FA described the league as the backbone of football in the country adding that organising the league is the primary responsibility of the FA with a view to discovering talents and nurturing them.

“If at the end of the day there is no league being played, no matter what we do, football is not developed. This is the backbone and the most important job that we are doing in ensuring that the league is played and players are developed. When we play the league, the players are involved, the coaches are there, the referees are busy too and the club owners are thinking ahead. So it is a multipurpose action playing the league.

“The league, we should not forget, is a work in progress. Importantly the focus now is for the league to be played in a proper way and we have set out 14 committees in the FA whereby all of them will be inaugurated next week with so much responsibilities. So you are going to see a proper organisation committee and we also want to bring the marketing committee to begin work in terms of sponsorship.

“The league has suffered many years. For us to get sponsors will be a gradual work in progress after we put things in shape. We are also going to improve some of the physical infrastructure in the field like we have been doing since we came on board. There will be new improvements on the stands, the players changing rooms, scoreboard. We are already working with a lot of people to improve on some of these things. You will see a lot of improvements before the league comes to an end,” he concluded.

The 2019 FCT FA League will entre matchday 6 on Wednesday. The fixturs made available indicate that that 4 matches will be played. Flying Arrow will battle Marsaki FC in the early morning kick-off by 9am.
