FCT FA Partners BSN Sports For Journalists’ Training In Abuja
The Federal Capital Territory Football Association, FCT FA has partnered with foremost online sports newspaper, Basic Sports in Nigeria (BSN) to organise one-day workshop in excellent sports coverage, basic understanding of the ethics of the profession as well as learning under those who have seen it all in the profession.
To achieving these objectives however, plans have been concluded to bring on board four topmost journalists in Nigeria to train journalists to improve on their reportage and delivery.
According to the organizers, the workshop is put together to appreciate the media for their contribution and coverage of the recently concluded FCT FA League.
The workshop scheduled to hold on Wednesday 11th, March 2020 at Hawthorn Suites Area 11, Garki- Abuja will be handled by four experienced Resource persons among which are; Mr John Joshua Akanji (SA Media to Minister of Sports), Mr Femi Johnson (veteran broadcaster and trainer at NTA), Victor Iroele (SA to former Minister of Sports), Kemi Areola (SA on ICT to Minister of Sports) as well Media Aide to Hon Minister, Mr Kola Daniel.
Speaking about the upcoming programme, FCT FA Chairman, Abba Muktar Mohammed, said the importance of media in sports coverage cannot be overemphasized. The FCT football supremo stated that his board will continue to work together with the sporting media to take football in the FCT to its deserved height.
“Give it to the sporting press, without them, nobody will know what is going on anywhere in the world. Nigerian journalists have shown zeal, perseverance and character that they can compete favourably with their counterparts around the world with their reportage and I believe they need our support to excel, ” he said.
The workshop is scheduled to hold on Wednesday March 11, 2020 at Hawthorn Suites, Area 11, Abuja.
