The board of the FCT Golf Association (FGA ) has been commended for a job well done for identifying a plot of land for the construction of the FCT owned golf course.

The permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Olusade Adesola made the commendation in his office when he hosted the board members of the FCT Golf Association led by its chairman Engr. Oladapo Olaide Mohammed

Mr Adesola while thanking the FGA for their commtement, said the request from association for a golf course is already getting the attention of the FCT administration and appealed for time and understanding as government has a procedures in approving land for public use.

“You have done a good work by going ahead to search for the land ,that was the first step ,We want to ensure that the land you have found for the construction of the golf course is free of litigation in line with the Abuja master plant. We must carry out all necessary procedures for land approval. Our desire is to see that Abuja has its own golf guest for the residents of Abuja and I must once again thank you for championing the development and promotion of the game of Golf in Abuja.

Early the board chairman said they were in the office of the permanent secretary to solicit for the support from FCDA for the construction of the Abuja owned first ever Golf course having secured a piece of land already.

Also speaking the chairman of the Board of trustee of FGA, Professor Bola Afolobi said arrangement have been concluded to mobilized resources for the construction of a world class golf course for Abuja to enable the ever growing population of the Abuja enjoy the free flow of the game of golf in the city.

Presenting a form of membership to the permanent Secretary professor Afolabi said it was in the spirit of sportsmanship and a true demonstration of their love for the sports loving permanent secretary to be a member of the FCT Golf Association.

The second vice chairman, Mr Agbor Clinton while presenting a card of welcome to the permanent Secretary said the FCT Golf Association was ready to partner with the FCTA in the area of sports development and appealed for cordial relationship between the FGA and the FCTA.

The chairman of infrastructure committee of the FGA, Mr Akanbom Enebong while briefing the press applauded the FCT Permanent Secretary for fast tracking the approval of the land of the FCT Golf course, which he said was the biggest achievement for the nation’s capital.
