FG Donates 600 Bags Of Rice Palliatives To Vulnerable Youths
In its efforts to cushion the impact of coronavirus on the Nigerian youths, the Federal Government has donated 600 bags of rice to assist vulnerable youths across the country, Bestchoicesports.com.ng reports
The donation of palliative to the youths was facilitated by the Minister for Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Affairs.
A release by the sports ministry notes that the rice was handed over to the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria led by Ambassador Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo who has distributed it to youths across the country.
While thanking the government for the gesture, Sukubo said, “We are indeed very grateful to the Federal Government for the gesture of donating rice to vulnerable youths to cushion the effect of the lockdown due to Covid-19.
“We commend Mr. President Alhaji Muhammadu Buhari for the proactive measures he has taken to cushion the effect of the lockdown as a result of covid-19. We also applaud the Minister for Youth and Sports Development as well as the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development for remembering the youths.
“We are happy that the palliative came at the appropriate time. We shall continue to play our role in ensuring that the battle against the virus is won.”
