Nasarawa State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Othman Bala Adam, has reiterated Government’s continuous support to the State-owned football club, Nasarawa United.

The Commissioner gave the reassurance when he visited the team’s training session at the Lafia City Stadium on Thursday morning.

Othman Bala urged the players to have more hunger for success and endeavour to sustain the tempo.

“Hunger for success is what will make the difference.

“This is a team with so much competence in its fold, and from what I have seen during the training programmes, I am optimistic you will do us proud as we expect nothing but positive outcome.”

The Commissioner revealed that Government is committed to fulfilling all its obligations with the team for better performances.

“We have talked about Enhanced Salaries, and the Club’s Management had defended that very well.

“Under the responsible administration of Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule, with all sense of modesty, before the end of next week, we should be able to sort out the variation aspect of it and meet other obligations due to the club”, he stated.

Reacting to the Commissioner’s visit, Club Chairman, Barr. Isaac Danladi, expressed delight and thanked him for showing up at the team’s training session to encourage the boys.

“We are highly delighted to have the Commissioner in our midst today, in spite of his very tight schedules.

“You can see the excitement in the faces of the players. We are highly motivated and encouraged”

“We want to appreciate the Honourable Commissioner, because under his leadership, Nasarawa State has actually blossomed in the aspect of youth and sports development.

“We want to encourage him to continue to give his best in the interest of service”

“I’m not surprised at his disposition because he has been a sportsman of high repute.”

Isaac Danladi who doubles as NPFL Club Owners Association’s chairman, said he was optimistic of the club’s continuous rise on the ladder, not minding its current status.
