FIFA 2022 World Cup Qualifiers Begin

The qualification for the 2022 FIFA World Cup started yesterday, with Mongolia vs Brunei in the Asian Football Confederation, AFC, First round of qualifiers.
On Thursday, Mongolia learned that it will face Brunei in the First Round of 2022 FIFA World Cup qualification. The opponents were decided by a draw held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia earlier Thursday, with Mongolia being placed in Pot A because the team’s April 2019 FIFA ranking was in the top 6 of the 12 teams.
Mongolia started its campaign at home in Ulaanbaatar on 6 June before traveling to Brunei to face the opponents again five days later.
Total goal tally across the two matches will be used to determine who will meet the top 34 AFC teams in a group stage format beginning in September 2019.
The First and Second Round matches will also be used as part of 2023 AFC Asian Cup qualification.
The World Cup is 1263 days before the tournament starts in Qatar in November 2022. Road.
